The Pro Bowl rosters have been announced, mostly filled with likely candidates.
Manning and Brady’s appearance at quarterback is obvious. It’s great to see the two mans – Shaub and Ryan both included too. I don’t feel either of them gets as much respect as they deserve given they are leading the league. Rodgers inclusion makes sense, though I have to say Robert Griffin’s inclusion seems a bit unfair on other rookie quarterbacks – Wilson and Luck have been equally impressive in my view.
Marshawn Lynch is an obvious choice for running back, and Arian Foster is a good call too. Great to see Frank Gore in there as well, he has excellent average gains because his timing is superb – he’ll wait for the gap to open up and then go.
Victor Cruz comes in for wide receiver and to be honest, you could probably fill several spots with New York Giants players, even if their recent performances have dulled our memories somewhat.
Plenty of 49ers make up the defensive line – Justin Smith, Aldon Smith (the Smith brothers), Dashon Goldson, Patrick Willis, NaVorro Bowman and Donte Whitner. After all, the AFC side won’t have any Seahawks on their offense ;).
David Akers won’t be going after the season he has had (though statically, wasn’t that difference from his previous one if you compare the distances), but I would have liked to see Greg Zuerlein, aka “Legatron”, get a spot.
